The country's canned seafood industry is moving well beyond tuna sandwiches, a pandemic-era trend that began with Americans in lockdown demanding more of their cupboard staples. U.S. canned seafood industry sales have grown from $2.3 billion in 2018 to more than $2.7 billion so far this year, according to market research firm Circana. “I was eating the same canned fish that my great grandmother Rose in Brooklyn was eating in the 1930s," she said. “I thought that was just insane.”Her company, Fishwife Tinned Seafood Co., set out to offer high-quality, sustainably sourced seafood. “Our mission is really to just galvanize the canned fish industry and transform and make it what we think it can be,” Millstein said, adding that means offering much more “than tuna fish sandwiches."

Stakes are high for the four-day visit, which begins on Saturday and will see Albanese meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang and make stops in Beijing and Shanghai. James Bugg/Bloomberg/Getty ImagesUS relations loomAlbanese is heading to Beijing less than two weeks after he met with US President Joe Biden in Washington. WHY ARE less-acclaimed wines so often compared to their more-famous counterparts by means of a diminutive term? I’m thinking of Rosso di Montalcino, the red wine from Tuscany that’s often referred to as “baby Brunello.” Although Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino are made in the same place from the same grape, Brunello is considered one of the world’s best wines; Rosso, more of an also-ran. But is that fair, or even accurate? Talking with Brunello producers in the past several weeks, I found them just as focused on making a first-rate Rosso as a great Brunello. After tasting some 15 Rossos, I think many of those producers have succeeded in making Brunello-like wines that cost a lot less.

ON A LATE summer day at Noble Rot, a restaurant and wine bar on Central London’s Lamb’s Conduit Street, I met one of England’s most distinguished legal professionals for lunch. “They don’t even taste the ice cream,” Jessica Yang said of the social-media-conscious crowd that descended this summer on Folderol, a natural wine bar and artisanal ice cream parlor in Paris that she owns and operates with her husband, Robert Compagnon. As the spring bloomed into a summer that saw a record number of tourists traveling to Europe, the lines became longer. Throughout June and July, tourists and content creators flocked to Folderol, waiting for hours on its otherwise quiet 11th arrondissement street so that they, too, could recreate what they had seen online: fashionable folk sitting on Parisian curbs, eating ice cream from steel coupes, smoking cigarettes and swigging wine. Both 37-year-old chefs, Ms. Yang and Mr. Compagnon met in Paris in 2010 while working in the kitchen of the highly acclaimed restaurant Guy Savoy. Mr. Compagnon, who is French American, and Ms. Yang, who is Taiwanese American, spent the next few years between Paris and New York City, working at restaurants including Le Jules Verne, Momofuku Ko, Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare and Per Se.

CNN —One person has died and eight people have been hospitalized after an outbreak of botulism in a restaurant in the French city of Bordeaux, according to a statement from France’s public health body on Wednesday. It is thought that the diners ate sardines in a home-made oil preserve, which was contaminated with botulism bacteria. They all dined at the Tchin Tchin wine bar from September 4 to September 10, Public Health France said. France’s public health agency has warned anyone who visited the restaurant and has shown any symptoms of botulism to immediately seek medical help. CNN has reached out to the Bordeaux prosecutor and Tchin Tchin wine bar for comment.

A woman has died and at least a dozen other people have become ill with botulism in France after eating homemade sardine preserves at a wine bar in the southwestern city of Bordeaux, French officials said on Wednesday, as they warned that other cases could soon come to light. The sick people had all eaten over the course of last week at the Tchin Tchin Wine Bar, an organic wine bar in central Bordeaux that is popular with foreign tourists, according to French health authorities. One woman who lives in the Paris region died after returning home and checking into a hospital, doctors said on Wednesday. Eight of the other victims are still at a hospital in Bordeaux. Although test results are pending, French health authorities said they were confident that botulism, an extremely rare but potentially life-threatening illness, was the cause, and they blamed the wine bar’s homemade, oil-based sardine preserves.

Its restaurant portfolio includes Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. But a better opportunity might be their hidden gem in the 150 Outback restaurants in Brazil. As for Starboard, the firm has had extensive success at both Papa John's and Darden, but in strikingly different ways. Papa John's was a very amicable engagement in which Starboard was invited onto the board and worked with management to create extensive shareholder value. If management is smart, they will view Darden as a warning, and Papa John's as the opportunity.

In downtown, 15 minutes away on foot, is the whimsical cocktail bar, Devil Takes a Holiday . Take a seat at the white marble bar to experience cocktails unique in both flavor and name, like the We Can’t Elope ($13) that blends cantaloupe with gin, lemon, mint and agave. Coastal Tórshavn — one of the world’s smallest capitals — is itself a nexus of creativity, embracing the contemporary without losing its connection to the past. Beyond the threshold is a small foyer that flows into an open living space with maple floors and a sitting area anchored by a brick fireplace and framed by a wall of built-in shelves painted green.
